We built the simplest, most accurate fall season countdown on the web โ because autumn deserves to be celebrated
HowManyDaysUntilFall.com was created by a team of autumn enthusiasts who found themselves constantly Googling "how many days until fall" each summer. Tired of getting vague answers or having to do the math manually, we built a free, always-accurate, real-time countdown tool dedicated entirely to the question everyone is thinking but nobody has a great answer for.
We launched in 2024 with a simple mission: give the world a beautiful, reliable, and completely free way to track the arrival of the fall season โ including the exact days, hours, minutes, and seconds until the autumnal equinox.
"Autumn is a second spring when every leaf is a flower." โ Albert Camus
Fall is the most anticipated seasonal transition for millions of people. From pumpkin spice lattes and Halloween to football season, harvest festivals, and the breathtaking spectacle of fall foliage, autumn represents comfort, change, and beauty. Our mission is simple: help you savor every day of that anticipation with an accurate, elegant countdown to the first day of fall.
Our countdown updates every single second, pulling from pre-calculated equinox dates for 2026โ2031 and beyond.
No subscriptions, no sign-ups, no paywalls. HowManyDaysUntilFall.com is and always will be completely free to use.
When one fall ends, our tool automatically counts down to the next. No manual resets, no outdated dates โ ever.
Fall is unique among the seasons. It's the only time of year when the world literally turns gold, orange, and red. The air carries the scent of wood smoke and cinnamon. Cozy sweaters come out of storage, hot drinks become a daily ritual, and the entire cultural calendar shifts into its most festive gear. The autumnal equinox โ the astronomical start of fall โ is a precise, measurable moment that we think deserves its own real-time countdown clock. And that's exactly what we built.
The autumnal equinox is the astronomical event that officially marks the first day of fall. It occurs when the sun crosses the celestial equator moving southward, making day and night approximately equal in length everywhere on Earth. In the Northern Hemisphere, this happens between September 21 and 24 each year. Our tool calculates the exact date of the equinox for each upcoming year and counts down to it in real time.
